So far there haven’t been any surprises to the 2011 fall TV season in terms of cancellations. ABC has canceled its first show in Charlie’s Angels.
There were three shows going into this season that I really didn’t like and couldn’t get through the entire pilot. Two out of those three shows have been canceled (Free Agents and Charlie’s Angels.) The third, A Gifted Man, is only a matter of time.
I think the biggest problem with Charlie’s Angels was that it didn’t know if it wanted to be a serious show or a campy, tongue-in-check show. It was teetering in the middle of both and that’s not a place you want to be. The writing was terrible. On top of it, the three ladies had no chemistry what so ever. I felt like I was watching three different character story lines that happened to coincide with some crime solving. It didn’t work at all.
I was always feel bad for a cast and crew when a show goes down. But for all people involved, they certainly deserve better than this show.
