Two and a Half Men Crew to be paid

Good news for the crew of Two and a Half Men.  Rumor has it they will be getting paid for the 4 missed episodes that have been canceled due to Charlie Sheen being, you know, crazy.

Hoping this information is true, I am so happy to hear that the crew will be taken care of considering the complete mess and joke this situation has become.  Charlie Sheen is a disaster and the fact that his decisions almost cost all these innocent people their livelihood was unspeakable.  So I am really glad to see the network do the right thing.

RENEWED SHOWS: Episodes and Shameless

Awesome news for us Episodes fans!!!   Episodes has been renewed for a 2nd season!!!!!!  So we get more Beverly, Sean and Matt LeBlanc.  More importantly, we get more Carol!!  I love her.  Even better, they haven’t determined the number of episodes for season 2 which means we could get more than the 7 we got this season.  I hope so because just 7 episodes is way too little.  They should get at least 12 like most of the other cable shows get.  Regardless, I am really happy this show is coming back!

I don’t watch Shameless but that has been renewed as well.  So fans of that show can rejoice!

Renew/Cancel for 2011/2012 Season

UPDATE: On my home page I have a 2011/2012 Renew/Cancel Tracker.  Click on the 2nd tab on the top of the page.  So as a result of having that tab, I won’t be updating this post anymore.  It’s silly to update both.  But just click the 2nd tab on the top of the page and it will take you right to it with all the latest information.   Thanks!!!

For some shows, the writing is on the wall and you can tell when the party’s over. Other shows are plugging right along so there really is no room for question or doubt about their broadcast future.   Then there are those shows in the middle lovingly referred to as “Bubble Shows.”  Bubble shows are shows that could go either way and are probably the hardest to predict.  Their fate lies in the hands of many different things and it’s different each time…ratings, sometimes (although very rarely) fan campaigns to save them, advertisers, the fate of other shows on their networks, a network’s unique renewal history (CBS typically cancels their lowest rated comedy even if it is doing decently), or a #1 show’s star completely going crazy and possibly canceling said show making room for a bubble show.  As of today, Feb 28th 2011, here is a quick breakout of where we stand with the definite renewals and cancellations:

Canceled:

My Generation
The Whole Truth
Medium
Life Unexpected
Running Wilde
Lone Star
The Good Guys
Chase
The Cape
Outlaw
Undercovers
Glory Daze (only cable show I’m including since this was just announced.)
Smallville (Final Season)

Renewed:

Castle
Cougar Town
Glee
Grey’s Anatomy
Private Practice
NCIS
Modern Family
30 Rock
Raising Hope
The Middle
American Dad
Big Bang Theory
The Biggest Loser
The Simpsons
The Cleveland Show
Two and Half Men (this could change depending on what happens with crazy Charlie Sheen)
How I Met Your Mother (and this is for TWO seasons!!)
Survivor (for 2 more seasons!!!)
The Office
Parks and Recreation
Community
The Bachelor (really?   ugh.)
UPDATE AS OF (3.24.11):
Fringe
UPDATE AS OF (3.28.11):
The Amazing Race
Undercover Boss

There may be shows I have forgotten about and if I did, let me know and I will add them to the list.  But to date, these are definites.  Every thing else right now is TBD.  But there are certain shows which are leading towards cancellation and certain shows leaning towards renewals.  The following are examples of “relatively easy to predict fates”:

Pretty Sure These Are Going To Be Goners:

Detroit 1-8-7
No Ordinary Family
V
The Defenders
Perfect Couples
Traffic Light
The Event
Off the Map

Break Out the Bubbly Because These Shows Are Coming Back:

Desperate Housewives
Criminal Minds
CSI
Mike & Molly
Supernatural
Bones
NCIS: LA
The Mentalist
The Vampire Diaries
House
Family Guy
L&O: SVU

Thanks to the AWESOME people at TVbythenumbers.com for their breakout of shows.  God love those people for making it easy to follow!!!   Aside from all the shows listed, everything else is up in the air.

You know what I think?  I know you are on the edge of your seat right now.  Networks have too many shows!!!   We are one day away from March 1st and there are still “mid-season” shows yet to premiere?  Huh?  To me, a mid-season premiere is January…maybe the first or second week in Feb at the latest.  But March and April?  That’s almost a summer premiere not mid-season.  Not to me anyway.  I think networks are dumping so much money into the mid-season replacement shows that if something hasn’t failed enough to replace it with a new show, the networks have nowhere to put these shows.  Look at what is happening to Cougar Town right now.  A great show is off the air for 12 weeks to give Mr Sunshine a chance because there was nowhere else to put it.  What’s the point?  Cougar Town is doing just fine.  You don’t need Mr Sunshine.  And you run the risk of losing viewers of a successful show because people can’t find it and think it’s possibly been pulled!   Networks are so desperate to try to “find the next big show” that they destroying network television.   With all the pulling and rescheduling and time slot changes no wonder ratings suck.  And I hate to say it because I am one of those annoying TV bloggers, but with the advent of blogs, it’s so much easier to find information about ratings on TV shows that people are more educated on what moving a show to a certain night can mean and what certain rating points in key demos (adults 18-49) mean to the future of their favorite shows.  For example, when a show moves to the “dreaded” Friday night, people now know it’s not a good sign for a show.  Why?  Because unless you are a loser like me, you have a life and are doing things on Friday nights (and Saturdays for that matter.)   Friday night is not a big TV viewing night.  So it’s a sign that the network is burying a show on a night no one watches TV anyway and now that show isn’t taking up a prime spot during the week.

It also makes me wonder if websites that analyze the ratings may actually be hurting (and helping) shows.  If I see after 3 weeks that a show isn’t looking good in the ratings and a site tells me that it isn’t looking good to stay on the air, I stop watching it.   Unless I absolutely love the show.  But I usually stop watching because there is SOOOOOO much on TV these days that I am not going to waste my time watching a show that won’t make it.  Now let’s say I didn’t read that information and kept right on watching and the show started to gain some momentum.  Maybe it stays.  I don’t know.  The people who do these analyses of shows have a pretty good handle on what works and what doesn’t so I find it hard to believe that a show that is losing viewers would somehow start to gain them.   But I don’t know.  I would love other people’s opinion on that though.

So this is where we stand.  Who knows where this all shakes out but if you don’t see your favorite shows on here, make sure you keep watching!!!!

REVIEW: Glee “Blame it on the Alcohol” S2 E14

Not a bad episode.  It was rather enjoyable frankly.  Glee is having a few decent individual episodes this season but I’m still not sure what that means for a serialized show where the “major” plot lines either go no where or are completely absent.

Kurt and Bert

This was the first time I completely disagreed with Kurt.   He was 100% wrong with the way he reacted to his father.  Bert went into Kurt’s room to ask his help with something and he see that Blaine has slept over.   Bert isn’t too happy about that and rightfully so.  Later in the show when the 2 are talking, Bert tells him that from now on, if he has a guy sleep over, he needs to ask his permission and clear it with him first.   Sounds perfectly reasonable to me…a little too reasonable some might argue.  Kurt takes this as his father being homophobic again.  Bert very clearly and fairly lets him know that he would have a problem if Finn wanted to have a girl sleep over in the same bed.  Kurt then tells him it wouldn’t bother him as much though.  In the end, Kurt gives his dad a half assed apology and walks out.

Kurt clearly did not understand his father’s issue.  Someone you are sexually attracted to, cannot sleep over in the same bed as you when you are in high school!!  Oh and by the way, the same rule applies to Finn with girls.  How is that being homophobic?    That’s being a parent laying down some ground rules in their home.  I hope the writers don’t go down this road with Kurt.  You know the road that every time something doesn’t go his way someone must be homophobic.  First off, it would completely cheapen all the amazing stories they have done with his Kurt’s sexuality.  Second, it would also cheapen the character.   Kurt is smarter than this and he and his dad have gotten through a lot together in this area.  Don’t minimize that by going down this road!  Bert was right and Kurt was wrong.  Let’s chalk it up to that happening sometimes and moving on from it.

Will/Beiste/Sue

The funniest most cringe worthy part of the episode!!!  Will and Beiste go out to her country western bar and tie a pretty good load on.  They seem to be having a great time blowing off some steam and also crank out a nice rendition of “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer.”  Beiste gets Will home and I like that the show keeps building on their friendship.  Will starts to grade papers and gives everyone an A+…love it!  But then another classic drunk move happens…Will goes to drunk dial Emma.  But we all know, it wasn’t Emma.  The husband and I were pretty sure it was Sue but when she didn’t say anything to him in the hallway, we thought, maybe it was Teri.  Nope it was Sue!!  And what does Sue do (during alcohol awareness week mind you) she plays the drunk message from Will on the school PA system!!!!!   It was fantastic!!!  If I were Will I would kill her for that!!!!  See now this is the out-of-line Sue I can deal with because the material Will just threw right into her lap was priceless!!!   She still should have NEVER done that to him in front of the students but it was so great, I can forgive it.

Mr Schue/Glee Kids/Drinking

I know I’m getting old when I side with the adults and I have MAJOR issues with how some of these things were handled!!  Ha!!!  Rachel’s dads are out-of-town and Puck is planting the idea of having a party at her house with a beer ball, booze, the whole nine yards.  Rachel of course says no but after a little peer pressure (and a really bad song about headbands) she decides to live a little and have the party.  Everyone comes over and she is serving wine coolers (I’ve been to some of those parties!!)  The party stinks and everyone wants to leave.  Rachel isn’t happy (maybe her God awful Little House on the Prairie dress has something to do with it)  but Puck offers a solution of breaking into her dads’ liquor cabinet and replacing it before they get back.  She says ok and the party really gets underway.  This I have no problem with because this is normal teenage experimentation and fun.   I also loved the part where Finn broke it down for Rachel how girls can get a parties when they get drunk.  It was so true!!!!

The next day, they are all hung over in school.  (Don’t worry I didn’t forget about the Spin the Bottle portion of the party, but that’s for another segment.)  By the way, could they be anymore obvious with the big sunglasses?  But Artie’s genius plan…drink Bloody Mary’s!  In school?  Are they crazy??  And by the way, didn’t anyone smell alcohol on them?   Well apparently the bloody mary’s got them all loopy again but no one in the school noticed.  This is where writers annoy the crap out of me.  You mean to tell me not ONE school official noticed about 16 kids walking around school with a buzz on?  Then you take the same 16 buzzed kids and put them in a closed auditorium where their behavior is really off, and you can’t smell alcohol on them?  And even if you can’t, you don’t notice that something is severely up when certain kids are slurring their words a bit?

The final kicker is when the kids have to perform in front of the school and they are all nervous.  Are you serious?   You perform live in front of people all the time and NOW you are nervous?  It was a completely ridiculous reason for them to be able to introduce alcohol again into the show.  So to calm their fragile nerves, Rachel happen to have a concoction of 7 different alcohols, cough syrup, Hawaiian Punch and some other gunk that probably would have poisoned or killed most people.  They all drink, go on stage, and Brittany ends up puking on Rachel and Santana ends up puking on stage as well.  It was like the pie eating scene from Stand By Me all over again!!!

Finally Will is clued into what is going on and in the Glee room tells them that they have no right to drink and act like that ever again.  Quinn tells Schue that’s the pot calling the kettle black (which Brittany thinks is totally racist…ha!)  He has them all sign wavers that there will be no drinking leading up to regionals but that if any of them “fall off the wagon” his cell phone is at the top of the page and they can call him anytime of the night to come and pick them up and drive them home.

Ok here’s the thing.  I liked the cell phone element.  When Will and Beiste were talking in the lunch room about being hypocrites telling kids not to drink when they did it, Beiste brings up a realistic point.  Kids are going to drink and experiment no matter what they say.  So you hope to give them the best guidance and direction and pray they make the right decision.  What she should have also said was that if they make the wrong decision, you punish them to the point that they will think twice about doing it ever again.  So Will giving them his cell phone in case of an emergency, I have no problem with because it’s a matter of safety.  I would rather young kids feel like they have a safety net if they get themselves in trouble so something worse doesn’t happen as a result of bad judgement.  I don’t believe that is condoning the action but merely looking out for someone’s well-being.   That’s not a bad lesson to teach.

What I did have a problem with is what Quinn said to Mr Schue and the fact that none of them were punished in some way. If I were Schue and my students started coming back at me for my drinking this is how I would have handled it: #1. I’m your teacher and you can’t talk to me that way.  #2. I’m over 21 years-old which is the legal drinking age.  You are not.  #3. I’m an adult.  You are not.   Therefore I can have a drink, responsibly, when ever I chose and I don’t have to answer to any of you.  It really pissed me off that Will backed down to the kids coming after him.  He has NOTHING he needs to apologize for.  And there is one HUGE fundamental difference between him and them…he is over 21 and therefore it is perfectly ok for him to have a drink.   They are not!!!!   How was this point completely missed in all this??   Also, Will should have made them have some sort of detention or after school project to pay for what they did.  They should have had some kind of punishment to show that what they did, wasn’t cool and won’t be tolerated.   I thought it was handled very badly and was very lazy on the writers part.

Blaine/Rachel/Kurt

To wrap up quickly, at Rachel’s party, they played Spin the Bottle and Rachel and Blaine ended up kissing.  It was a pretty good kiss.  So good, that since Blaine liked it, he started wondering if he was really gay.  When he opened up to Kurt about this (because he is going on a date with Rachel as a result) Kurt was hurt because of his feelings for Blaine but I think felt threatened that he was a losing a great connection with him so he blew off Blaine’s feelings.  Blaine put him in his place by telling him how disappointed he was in Kurt because he of all people should be supportive of Blaine trying to figure out who he is.  He’s never had a boyfriend so maybe he isn’t gay or maybe he’s bi-sexual.  Either way, Kurt should be supporting him not reprimanding him for being confused.  Kurt is always preaching about being tolerant and not being judged so I was glad Blaine showed him that Kurt is doing exactly what he gets on other people about.

The end result was pretty funny since Rachel and Kurt had a bet over Blaine being straight or gay.  Kurt thinks it was all because he was hammered when they kissed that he is confused and Rachel is convinced there is chemistry between them regardless.  At the coffee shop, Rachel goes right up to a very sober Blaine and plants one on him.  He then steps back, says wow, and thanks Rachel for clearing everything up….he’s gay!!  You think Rachel is going to be crushed but she isn’t.  Instead she hugs Kurt and thanks him for giving her some new material to be able to write about since she dated a gay guy.   Ha!!!!   Kurt’s happy all around.  His friendship with Rachel is just fine and the love of his life is still gay.  Yeah!!  Although to nit pick a little, I think that would have been a great storyline of Blaine questioning whether or not he is gay.  I was hoping that was going to drag out longer but it didn’t.  Most importantly for me though, Rachel and Kurt’s friendship is still in good shape.  They took so long to get to this place and Rachel really needed a good friend that I’m glad this didn’t bust them up.   Now if he can only give that girl some party attire fashion advice!!!

QUICK REVIEW: Supernatural “The French Mistake” S6 E15

Funniest Supernatural I have EVER seen!!  That was fantastic.  Not a whole lot moving forward from a plot standpoint but I really didn’t care because tonight was priceless!

The show starts with Balthazar showing up and giving the boys a key.  The key is to the room that holds all the weapons that he has been collecting.  Raphael is coming after him for it and using the Angel Virgil to do his bidding.  Balthazar set up a plan that sends the boys to a protective universe so Raphael can’t get to them or the key.  Balthazar puts a symbol on the window and pushes the boys through it into their alternate universe.  The clever writers of Supernatural then put the boys in the most amazing and hilarious universe….their real lives!   Sam and Dean are now on the set of the Supernatural TV show as Jensen and Jared.  I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome this is.  So you have Jensen and Jared, playing Dean and Sam, playing Jensen and Jared.  CRAZY!!!

I love when SN has episodes like this.  For all the heavy, intense episodes this show has, it pulls off comedy so effortlessly and perfectly.  An episode like this can come off very badly if none done right and aside from the terrific writing, the biggest hats off have to go to Jensen and Jared for making this episode work so well.  It’s such a great payoff for the loyal fans who can appreciate all the inside jokes running throughout the episode!   And by the way, that scene where Dean and Sam have to act as J&J being D&S with Mischa as Castiel…OMG!!!  I couldn’t stop laughing!!!

Unfortunately it wasn’t all fun and games when Virgil was able to find a way bust into the alternate universe. He’s hunting down the boys but thankfully, his powers don’t work so Dean and Sam can beat the tar out of him.  Alas, Bob Singer sees this and thinks J&J are beating up one of the extras so they go pull the boys off him and Virgil escapes with the key.  Yikes!   While D&S are running around getting all the stuff they need to create a spell to get back to their real lives, Virgil is doing the same thing.  As a result, he sees Mischa and thinks he is Castiel and kills him for his neck bone.  D&S show up at the crime scene and talk to a witness about what he over heard.  He tells him about a location that Virgil is supposed to meet up with Raphael.  S&D figure out that is how they can get back to the real world so they head to the location.  Back on set however, Virgil, fresh from his visit to the local Gun-Mart, starts shooting up the set…including Bob Singer and Eric Kripke!!!  Sam distracts Virgil long enough for Dean to tackle him, beat him up again, and steal the key back.   Just then, the same symbol that Balthazar put on their window to get into this world, shows up on one of the set windows and S&D hurl themselves through it, key in hand, to get back home.  At that moment, Raphael, Balthazar, and Castiel all show up since Raph wants the key.  Turns out, sending the boys to TV land, was a set up to trap Raph and give Castiel the time to secure all the weapons.  D&S aren’t too happy about it but Castiel reminds them that the war in Heaven is serious business and that in order to save Heaven, he will do whatever it takes.  After being in TV land, D&S are just happy to be home.

As much as I LOVED this episode, does it feel like we haven’t really moved the S6 story arc forward very much?  The pacing in the first half of the season seemed to be moving very swiftly but now it seems to have come to a complete stop with some small putters forward here and there.  Last week it seemed like we wasted an entire episode revisiting Lisa and Ben to remind us what we already know…because of Dean’s lifestyle, he can’t be with them and he is staying away from them for their own protection and because he loves them.   But it’s over.  So why did we need to waste an episode going through that again?  I’m not sure.   This week, we have a tremendous episode from an entertainment standpoint.  But from a major story arc standpoint, nothing really happened except being reminded that the war in Heaven is big and it’s still happening.  Again, already knew that.  If this big bad Mother of All is supposed to be the big focus, why aren’t they focusing on it?  And is anyone else concerned that we are running out of time this season?  I don’t want this to be rushed.   I hope this big bad storyline starts moving forward because I really want to know why this is relevant and how this connects to the war in Heaven.

But thank you to everyone involved with Supernatural.   What a terrifically fantastic episode and huge shout outs to the cast and crew, especially Jared and Jensen!!!

REVIEW: Parenthood “Do Not Sleep With Your Autistic Nephew’s Therapist” S2 E17

I think it’s fair to say that I am going to need a HUGE box of tissues for next week’s Parenthood.  You all know how much of a crier I am and you know it’s bad when you start crying DURING THE PREVIEW!!!  My husband hasn’t stopped laughing at me.  And he shouldn’t…I’m pathetic!!!

Joel/Julia/Sydney/Zeek/Camille

Let’s get this one out-of-the-way so we can get to the big stuff.   And I hate to do this because I have been clamoring for a big Joel/Julia focus for a while now but like I said, I am trying to cut down on the length of these reviews.  Sydney is now all of a sudden a vegetarian.  I think it’s pretty funny for a 6 year-old to decide that but whatever.  J&J have decided to go with it.  It’s probably a good idea because you know what, after a while, she’ll hate it and come back to eating normal food.  And if she doesn’t, then she’ll appreciate the fact that you supported her and it was obviously legit.

As usual, Zeek becomes his typical asshole self.  Instead of respecting J&J wishes for THEIR daughter, he decides what is right and wrong and what the rules should be in J&J’s house.  Now, in general, do I think kids today have too much to say and parents are letting them dictate too much of how things should be in a household…yes.  But for Pete’s sake…she’s 6!!!!  So she wants to eat vegetables instead of meat.  Is that really a hill you want to die on?  I don’t think so.  And I am with Julia that he undermines her as Sydney’s mother when he decides to change the rules that J&J have agreed to.

Camille surprising backs him up and as a result Zeek comes to thank her while she is folding laundry.  They end up making out and getting busy in the laundry room.  So it’s nice to see their relationship moving forward.

Adam/Haddie/Alex

Adam seems to be getting his panties in a bunch over the fact that Alex is spending so much time at their house.  I don’t really see what the problem is.  Would he rather Haddie and Alex spending time at their house where they can supervise them constantly?  And instead of whining to Kristina about it, maybe he should sit Haddie down and tell her that Sundays are just for family right now.  He can come over any other time but he would Sunday just for them.  That’s not so hard is it?  Sheesh.

Sarah/Seth/Amber/Drew

Seth and Drew are getting closer each week and now it seems Sarah is also liking the idea of having him around.  Guess who still hasn’t warmed up though? That’s right.  Amber.  Seth brings her a guitar as an olive branch and she is having no part of it.  Later Drew comes to her room and asks her not to be so mean to their father.  They get into it but Amber tries to explain that he is just going to leave again and she doesn’t want Drew to get hurt.

Before Sarah leaves for work, she is trying to make them dinner but is absolutely brutalizing a chicken.  Seth and Drew come in and help her with dinner.  Then Amber comes down and Seth asks her to go with him and Drew to Alcatraz since he knows how much she likes it.  Well this set her off.  She starts ripping into him about what little he knows about her and all the things he has missed in her life.  She starts crying hysterically calling him a loser for missing out on their lives and tells him she doesn’t want to see him.  It’s grueling to watch Amber go through this but as usual, Mae Whitman hits a home run.  She is so amazing in this scene.  Actually when isn’t she amazing, really.

This also hits Seth right in the gut and after this beat down he receives, surprise surprise, he now has a gig in Seattle and he needs to leave town the following morning.  He goes and tells Sarah at the bar and asks her to tell the kids to which she begrudgingly agrees to do.  I was so pissed at her for that but then she quickly redeemed herself.  When Seth leaves, she storms out after him and tells him that he can’t do that to them and don’t make her the bad guy because she will bad mouth him to the kids for this.  She tells him that he will be at the house in morning to say good-bye to his children.  I wondered if he was going to show up or bail.  I thought he was going to bail.  But he showed up and said good-bye and off he went.  But not before he bumped into Sarah and told her that she is really the true talent and artist…he was just the dumb ass who played the guitar.  You can tell this means a lot to her and is breaking her heart at the same time.  As she said, this guy was the love of her life (still is if you ask me) and she still loves him and sees those glimpses why she fell in love with him to begin with.  So it crushes her just as much as the kids, every time Seth bails.  Do you think we’ve seen the last of him?   Something tells me no.

Crosby/Jasmine/Gaby/Kristina/Adam

What is going on here really shows how your actions can sometimes have such huge ramifications on innocent people you never even thought about.  Obviously Crosby and Jasmine are having a rough time and it’s about to get worse since Crosby slept with Gaby.  When Gaby was working with Max, Jasmine showed up at Kristina’s and was apologizing for missing Max’s party and she starts to tell her what is going on.  Gaby overhears and she just can’t take it.  Later that night, she shows up at Kristina and Adam’s and tearfully resigns as Max’s teacher.  A&K are dumbfounded and have no idea where this is coming from.  Kristina goes to see Gaby at her home.  She is so confused by this and really wants to know the real reason Gaby is leaving.  She tells her that she can open up to her even if it is personal.  Gaby basically tells her what is going on and Kristina, who was not expecting that, looks like she is going to kill her.

Jasmine has finally decided she wants to talk to Crosby about what is going on.  She goes to see him on his boat and Crosby is pretty hammered.  He wants no part of talking to her in that condition but she insists, especially when he won’t even look at her.  Crosby tells Jasmine that he slept with someone else.  She wants to know who and he won’t tell her.  He goes to hug her and apologize and she completely freaks out (rightfully so), throws stuff at him, and storms out telling him that she will never forgive him for this.  Oh boy.  While I have not been part of the Jasmine fan club, she did not deserve this.  I would never forgive that either.  You have one bad fight (granted it was pretty bad) and your instinct is to sleep with someone else.  Ugh.  I wouldn’t blame Jasmine if she packed up her stuff and left town with Jabar.

Back at Adam and Kristina’s, Kristina tells Adam what is going on and why Gaby really resigned.   Adam is livid.  He wants to go to Crosby’s and give him a beat down.  Apparently Crosby’s ears were ringing because he walks into A&K’s to apologize for what happened.  He and Adam get into a screaming match.  Crosby apologizes for them losing their babysitter and that just sets them off.  Come on Crosby…babysitter?   Really?  When Adam tries to explain to him that Gaby was more than just a babysitter, that she was his teacher and a specialist who works with autistic children with Aspberger’s and does Crosby get that Max has Aspberger’s, guess who is standing on the steps listening to whole thing?  Max.  If you haven’t been watching Parenthood, Max doesn’t know he has Aspberger’s.  A&K have never told him.  Well now he knows he has Aspberger’s but he has no idea what that means which means A&K are going to finally have to have that difficult discussion with him.   And Crosby has forced their hand.

There were so many relationships destroyed or damaged as a result of Crosby and Gaby’s horrible decision…Jasmine and Crosby, Crosby and Adam, Crosby and Kristina, Gaby, Kristina, and Adam, Gaby and Max, and Adam, Kristina and Max.  Not only would I expect Jasmine to never forgive Crosby but if I were Kristina or Adam, it would be really hard for me to ever forgive him as well.  As a result of Crosby’s actions, Max lost his teacher with whom he was very connected to and this could possibly destroy much of the progress he has made and significantly set him back.  And on top of all that, A&K are forced to talk to Max about Aspberger’s before they were ready to do so.  How do you forgive that?  I know they will eventually but in the immediate future, things between all of them will be pretty strained.  It’s just a horrible situation.

I hope you all go out and buy lots and lots of Kleenex before next Tuesday’s episode because you are going to need it as Adam and Kristina finally tell Max about his Aspberger’s.

Two and A Half Men Shut Down for the rest of the season

Wow!   Charlie Sheen has managed to destroy the number 1 show on TV this season and yet doesn’t take any responsibility for it.  Does that really shock anyone?  Probably not.

This is such an amazing development and both parties are acting like idiotic high school boys.  Don’t get me wrong this is all Charlie Sheen’s doing.  But does Chuck Lorre really need to stoke the fires with his vanity cards?  Probably not necessary knowing what a fragile mental state Sheen is in.  Well in an interview today, when Sheen was asked about it, he went off and ripped Lorre making comments like the following:

“I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world, by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process.  Last I checked, Chaim, I’ve spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold, and the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write. Clearly someone who believes he’s above the law.”

Um, ok.  So much for being the bigger person.  As a result of Sheen’s lovely interview, the following statement was released from TPTB at CBS:

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season.”

And if that wasn’t enough, after the announcement about production being shut down, Sheen released a letter to TMZ.com:

“What does this say about Haim Levine [Chuck Lorre] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows … I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can’t handle my power and can’t handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words — imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.

Remember these are my people … not yours…we will continue on together…”

Charlie Sheen

Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up!!!!  Stay tuned.

UPDATE: When I wrote this, I had yet to see this gem of a quote from the Alex Jones interview:

“I was told if I went on the attack they would cancel the show, so I’m seeing if they’re telling the truth,”

What an asshole.  So because of his ego, he is going to risk the livelihood of the rest of the cast and crew so he can prove a point?  Is he serious?  There have already been some stories about how the crew is furious with him because when the show isn’t going, these guys don’t get paid.  So when Sheen goes to rehab and the show is put on hiatus for his douchey ways, the crew doesn’t get paid.  Way to go Charlie!  And now because Chuck Lorre has become his enemy (how that started I have no idea) he will risk everyone’s jobs to push some buttons.   Why?   Because he’s a narcissistic ass!!!

This has to be unprecedented in TV that the #1 comedy show could be canceled because its lead actor is a buffoon.  I would rather them either recast the role or get rid of Charlie Sheen’s character somehow and bring on someone else before they cancel the show.   And if it doesn’t work out, then cancel it.  But the rest of the cast and crew shouldn’t be penalized because Sheen is a nut job.   What a complete and utter mess this has become!
